Fritz Heider (19 February 1896 - 2 January 1988) [1] was an Austrian psychologist whose work was linked to the Gestalt school. In 1958 he published The Psychology of Interpersonal Relations, which expanded on his creation of the theory of balance and the theory of attribution. It took 15 years to complete it; before completion, it was circulated through a small group of social psychologists.

 Communication Theory

Communication theory is a very basic thing in human life. Without communication, it is difficult for humansto communicate with each other. And now communication has become a phenomenon of the formation of an integrated society or community or information unity. Where everyone in the community shares information for a common goal. Humans must be able to improve their communication by applying appropriate communication theories to approach and solve this problem. With fair communication without using the right communication theory, it will be difficult to solve the communication process problem.

Communication Context

•Interpersonal Communication

The process that must be carried out by humans as social beings, because with interpersonal communication we can get information and unite different thought patterns with the interlocutors. This is very important to do because with us live in a society and to strengthen our relationships with others.

•Group Communication

According to Baruch Spinuza states that humans are social animals. This statement is greatly strengthened by modern psychology which shows that other people have a very large influence on a person's attitude and behavior. Communication that takes place between several people in a group is called group communication and also communication that occurs between a group of people in carrying out tasks and achieving the same goals.

•Public Communication

Communication between a speaker with a large number of audiences that cannot be recognized one by one, and also as a communication process to the public to convey information relating to the public interest.

•Mass communication

It is a form of communication that uses media channels to connect the communicator with the mass communicant. Mass communication is a message that is communicated through mass media to a large number of people.

Types of communication

•Oral Communication

In the form of communication carried out by two or more people who face each other and there is no distance that prevents or limits them. This communication occurs when two or more people talk or dialogue with one another, during interviews, meetings and speeches. There is also indirect verbal communication such as communication using a device such as a cellphone, due to the distance from the other party.

•Writing Communication

In the form of communication that is done by means of writing without the person or speaker directly using language that is concise, clear and can be understood by the recipient. Writing communication can be in the form of letters, and also sms.
